Director:

Nirmala Ghimire (Aamaa)

Nirmala is the director and founder of Aishworya Children’a home.

She quit her job in 2005 to found the orphanage and lives at the house full-time to oversee the day to day tasks. She has a husband and three adult children who live in their family home nearby and support her decision to run an orphanage wholeheartedly.

Nirmala is a natural mother-figure and is completely devoted to the children.

Assistant Director:

Pramila Ghimire

Pramila is Nirmala’s eldest daughter and the assistant director of the orphanage.

She is extremely dedicated to helping the children and considers herself to be a big sister to all of the children.

She comes to the orphanage every day to help Nirmala with the day-to-day running of the orphanage, and is responsible for a lot of the behind-the-scenes jobs, such as buying gas, paying the rent and bills, managing the daily accounts and finances, and taking children to the doctor/hospital if necessary.

Administrative and Financial Manager:

Stephanie Roberson (Maya)

August 2007-Present

Stephanie is a volunteer from the UK. She came to Aishworya in August 2007 and stayed with us for 10 months. She did a lot of fundraising to help get the children back into school on a full-time basis and taught them English and Maths in the home.

She has continued to work with the orphanage on a part-time basis since leaving Nepal by managing all of the international donations, accounting and financial record keeping, writing the newsletters and developing and maintaining the website.

Medical Support Staff:

Dr Mohatra

August 2008 – Present

Dr Mohatra first came to visit Aishworya in August 2008 after a chance encounter with Nirmala, our Director. He was so impressed with our organization that he immediately offered to volunteer his services and conduct regular health check-ups.

Since then, Dr Mohatra has become an important addition to our staff, visiting regularly to check-up on the children, and he has provided vital help and support during an outbreak of chicken pox in the summer of 2008 and a nasty viral flu which swept through the orphanage in the summer of 2009.

Live-in Staff Member:

Pramod Ghimire

Pramod is Nirmala’s son, and he lives at the orphanage full-time to assist in the day-to-day running of the orphanage and supervises the children.

Pramod often works outside the orphanage for different companies, but he is often on hand to help and support the staff and children.
